An essential first step involves
gaining a clear
picture of the pattern of symptoms you are experiencing and targeting the
factors that interfere with your functioning for some type of therapeutic
intervention.

will be a need to pinpoint
life
problems and identify options for solving them, which helps you to regain
a sense of control following a difficult experience.
As a
consequence of developing
skills for
regulating emotions and improving interpersonal effectiveness, you will
maximize opportunities for boosting
your self-image and satisfaction with
personal relationships.
The
overall result will include alleviating
symptoms associated with anxiety, stress, anger, depression
and/or other
disabling conditions; and fostering your personal growth and
self-development.
Guiding
Beliefs
Probably
no
single
situation or condition contributes to your feelings of distress and
reduced effectiveness. Rather,
biological
predispositions, personality or coping styles, previous experiences,
learned
behaviors, and physical or environmental triggers may combine to create
a
particular condition. The
good news is that people can learn and develop very
effective ways to overcome difficulties and live better lives.
People can
change their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a
supportive and confidential
environment; within a collaborative relationship with a qualified and
caring
professional; and using scientifically validated procedures.
Focusing
on problems is not the only or best way to achieve therapeutic results
and correct what's wrong, however. Often, whatever you focus on appears
bigger
and stronger. Rather than trying to minimize what's worst in
life, we should maximize what's best.
My
Unique Approach
Different clients need different things. One size does not
fit all. Each
client receives a comprehensive
and
coherent plan of treatment that istailored specifically to the
client’s
needs. There are
myriad diagnostic and therapeutic approaches out there that
promise to deliver quick cures and dramatic results. In my practice,
I utilize proven
and effective techniques for assessing
and treating mental, emotional, and behavioral conditions.
In addition, all of my assessment and treatment methodsincorporate
the very best in expert clinical and research
opinion, and benefit
from good clinical judgment and
common sense.
